Hi all,

I received an email from Alpha Networks this morning shown below in red writing.

Unforuntately over the last few days we have experienced some DDoS attacks.
(attacks to our servers from the internet - more than one source)

We are working to try and stop them, but as we block, more appear.

Normally speaking we are well covered for DDoS protection.
Due to the size of the current problem we are experiencing issues - teamspeak has been affected most by this.

For this reason we are going to schedule some massive network upgrades to prevent this from ever happening again.

We will send more infomation round when available.

Thank you for your patience.

Alpha Networks

I have posted it up here.

For all that don't know, a DDoS attack basically floods the server with hits in order to block the connection for other people and bring it down. It is what the group hacking group "Anonymous" do to bring their target down.

As the email says, it is mainly teamspeak that has been affected, but I wanted to inform all COD players so they know what has happened when the server goes down for the upgrades.

At the moment there is no date or time been set for the upgrades but I will let you all know as soon as I do.

As for me, I have 2 uni exams left then it is summer WOOOOO

My last exam is on the 6th June so expect to see me that evening !!

ILethalz Out.

Noo... A Ddos attack is a hacker connecting many IP's, 1OO.OOO Etc.. at the same time, overloading the server, and in most case's getting the system to fail..

It can be done as lethalz type's above though, theres several ways of making a Ddos attack...

DDoS is primarily done by the hacker / hackers creating a bot that people who support them or their idea then download. The bot then connects every PC that has downloaded it to a website, therefore giving thousands or millions of hits to one websites server at the exact same time. The server then cannot handle it and starts throwing out 404 Errors to anyone that tries to connect until it has processed the thousands of hits.

Just look up what Anonymous has done.
